candy-coated tylonal?

i just took some tylonal and the bottle said "ez-tab - sweet coated!"
these things taste like candy, yet they're extra strength tylonal... does anyone else think that's kind of a dumb idea?
i mean if a little kid found them and tasted it, they'd probably eat at least one, which is 500mgs of tylonal.

Posted: 4/14/07 at 10:33pmAre they chewable tablets or pills? I'm just curious; I don't swallow pills, so I'm always looking for options.

i'm not sure... i swallowed them but i take calcium pills so i'm used to swallowing horse medicine.
i googled it for you and all i found was info about a different kind of "ez-tab" and had a mini panic attack when it said it had caffien in it (i would be up all night) untill i realized it was not what i took.

What's the difference between that and any children's medicine, all of which is made to cater to children's tastes?
All medicine should be under lock and key if there are children in the house.

these tasted better than any chidlren's medicine i've ever had x_X
that stuff is foul.
but why make medication in an adult strength taste good so that a kid would want it... pills dont really need to taste like anything if you're swallowing them with water.

Thanks for the info, Abba. I take calcium as well, but I get the kids' ones!

All the children's medicines I see advertised and in the drugstores have all different flavors meant to appeal to kids.
A lot of adults have trouble swallowing pills and something like this would make it possible for them to be able to consume the medication.
Again, this shouldn't even be an issue. Medicine should not be kept anyplace accessible to a child.

Not meant to threadjack but 500mg of tylonal works for you?
When I get a headache, it usually is pretty bad and 500mg won't do a thing.
Heck, anytime I have pain, 500mg doesn't work.
And no, it's not like I am immune to it.

Posted: 4/14/07 at 10:54pmI think she's saying that 500 mg is a lot for a small child, if a kid were to get his or her hands on one of these pills. Most of the time, directions on 500 mg tablets say to take two, though, so the recommended dose is actually 1000. 500 might not do much.

Oh, ok. I thought she meant that 500mg helps her.
Tylonal barely even works for me. The best for my pain is Advil/Ibuprofen

I swallow pills, and can't stand liquid medicine of any kind, except of course cherry Nyquil. That stuff is like candy.
I think I have an issue with liquid medicines, though. When I was 2, I pulled up a chair alongside the kitchen counter and climbed up to the medicine cabinet and chugged a bottle of cherry tylenol. I was rushed to the hospital and had to have my system cleaned out.
I like to tell that story to new people I meet. It makes me look like I have some "street cred" if I tell them I OD'd at the age of 2. What's more hardcore than that...?
In conclusion, keep medicine away from kids. It's dangerous. My mom is still scarred. She doesn't talk about it...

This is exactly why Cough Whip was taken off the market in the 80's. It was a bubble gum flavored "whip" for children with a cough but it tasted AMAZING (and worked better than any cough medicine Ive ever taken)
Apparently, children were OD'ing on it left and right
I could use some Cough Whip right about now
