cannibalism in the big easy

Posted: 9/4/05 at 1:09pmI'm Ann Coulter because I believe someone should do their research before posting "information" on the internet that is inflammatory and completely incorrect?

She's hit or miss, our Namo...
what does that Ann Coulter thing mean?

Did he mean this literally? I read this rant as a comment on the "barbarism" of the "poor black" survivors. First they loot, then they rape and kill now they eat their victims...that is the next logical step in the disintegration of these people's morals. That is the slant some people are taking. "Well, if those stupid poor black people didn't live in a city below sea level this might not have happened..."
Let's make the victims look as bad as possible to ease our conscience for not doing more to help them...

Exactly Sueleen...the attitude is presented in a very small scene in Driving Miss Daisy. She tells Bouley that "They all steal, you know."
When I worked retail, the black customers were followed FAR more often than the white ones. Another place I worked in school was a movie theatre and I was frequently asked if I was the only white person working there, or people would come up to me because they didn't want to be helped by a black employee. And the black employees always had to take out the trash and clean the parking lot, the worst jobs there.
It's not a coincidence.

The rant is one thing - but it started out as a report that people were actually eating the dead bodies. See my first post - he retracts that part by saying he had found out it wasn't true after all. That's the part I'm commenting on.

My point was, let's focus on one bad article and get up in arms about that. If you read this thread, almost nobody was willing to take the canabalism report at face value.
But instead of saying, "Well, nobody believed it in the first place..." it becomes the Coulterian "SEE how they spread lies and believe them????"
And also, I meant that our Rathnait was gorgeous like Ann Coulter, it was criticism AND a compliment.
#31re: cannibalism in the big easy
Posted: 9/4/05 at 1:26pmI got that, my point is that perhaps he KNEW it was untrue and was trying to make a point that many people would believe this as a logical development.

Namo, I'm not getting upset with this and ignoring everything else. I'm upset about this TOO.
And thanks for the compliment. But I look about as much like Coulter as I think like her.
And Sueleen, he knows it's untrue now. He didn't know that when he reported it originally. Click on the link in papa's post and you'll see what I mean.
