I had one, it got all spammy and crap, so I got rid of it.
So I got another. Yahoo.
Then I was invited to Gmail, and I decided to use that, but I hardly ever touch the thing, because yahoo is very handy.

At one time I maintained four.
I only use one now...no wait....I have two, but I never use my yahoo! account...I just needed to sign up for it to bid on something on the yahoo! auction thingy.

Also 3. One for my own everyday use, one for work, and one to use for web sites that ask for an email address but I don't particularly want to hear from again. I'm guessing there must be around 3,000 unread messages in there.

Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

Too many. WAY too many.
3 for work (I work for three different companies all located in the same office). About 6 or 7 other email addresses (i.e. info@company.com type email addresses) are redirected to my inbox which is a joy let me tell you.
I then have 3 personal email addresses. One for everyday personal use, one for professional personal use (i.e. myname@gmail.com to put on job resumes, etc.) and one for when I need to enter an email address even though I know it will get spamed.
Blah I really need to downsize my personal accounts, two of which I could easily combine.
ETA: Because I wrote a sentence twice.

A few years ago I had about 10-12. Now I only have 5 active ones. One for work, EBAY only, theatre newsletters/discounts, etc., Yahoo Groups, and I have one personal e-mail used to correspond with a handful of people. I'm sure the rest have lapsed from lack of use by now.

I have one main one, and one I created when I do shows and things, but I can't remember it know.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

One ending with the name of my educational institution which I use for most things official and when signing up for legit accounts.
Two for signing up for throwaway accounts (e.g. newspapers, forums on which I'll lurk once or twice). The mail I receive is currently set to forward to my main address, but it's nice to have the option to end that if I desired.

1 school address, 1 Gmail specifically for friends and family, 1 Verizon that I use for website sign-ups- especially anything where I don't want my full name displayed to the receiver. The good thing about the Verizon one is that it automatically deletes anything in your inbox after 30 days, so I don't have to bother maintaining it. I only check it when I'm expecting something.

5 that are mine 4 personal 1 work oh yeah plus a shared one at home and old netscape address that I got locked out off. The number of passwords that I have to remember - way too many.
