Hey, I was just wondering if anyone knew any audition songs that are rather easy to do. I really dont have much of a voice, and I have no idea what range I really am, but I know I would prefer a lower song then a higher song. Your probably thinking "why would she audition for a musical if she cant sing". Well its because I want to dance in West Side Story, but you also have to do a singing audition.
Thanks for your help
I am an alto (that's a female with a lower voice. Soprano is a female with a highe voice.) I don't have any vocal training but I sang the song "Roxie" from Chicago for a audition this year. It is cute and fairly easy to sing.

Give Me another Old Fashioned Please.- Kander and Ebb (I think)
The best one I can think of though is:
"Out Of Love"

100 Easy Ways from Wonderful Town is funny and low, and there is some dialogue in it too!
"What Was A Woman To Do" from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Make It Another Old Fashioned Please -- is vintage Cole Porter
To sing in West Side Story as a dancer, do an up-tempo. Turn Back Oh Man from GODSPELL is a good choice.
"When You're Good to Mama" -Chicago
