Ok, I'm going to trust you guys with my secret spot. In Carl Schurz Park (the site of Gracie Mansion, where the mayor lives when he's not a billionaire), right on the East River, in a secluded spot under a stone arched bridge, there is a statue of Peter Pan.
Perfect place to sit and read.

Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

I like that spot, too, but there's this weird wall where people keep sticking their chewing gum.
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

I frickin' LOVE the Frick!

Is this where is meant by the Brooklyn Heights promenade?
I found the experience of walking between buildings like those below and seeing the absolute contrast of Lower Manhattan (above) pan out before me quite stunning.
I also loved the Frick.
And I intend, one day, to take up the offer from one poster in this thread to take me on an accompanied tour of their favourite spot.

That's the Promenade! It is almost the view from my new Condo too!
I said Ciao Manhattan, Hello Brooklyn Heights and I LOVE IT!
My favorite spot of all is the Brooklyn Bridge walkway at dusk. Makes me remember why I love the city so!

I have to say the Frick as well. I can spend all day in there with at least an hour devoted to the Fragonard room.
Second would be the Central Park Zoo.

I've only been away from NYC for two weeks and am already getting squeamish... anyway:
Lincoln Center (I love browsing the Arts Library)
South Street Seaport
The Met Museum
The Time Warner Center (59th Street)
Governor's Island is beautiful in the warm months
To whomever mentioned the Marriot Marquee bathrooms: yes, those are by far the nicest bathrooms I've seen in NYC!
And I've never heard of the Frick; I'll have to check it out!
