I really love the bar at Joe Allen. Great staff, friendly patrons, great food, good drinks and a theatre star or two. I just feel at home there. Love it.
I also love Pier 45 @ Hudson River Park. You totally escape the noise, traffic and commotion. I adore it there.

I ALWAYS have to stop at the Broadway Lounge on the 8th floor of the Marriott Marquis, even if it's just to use the bathrooms.
Adding the Brooklyn Heights promenade. I lived 2 blocks from it for a few months and went down there constantly, day and night. It has one of the best views of the Manhattan skyline you can get with the Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, and Statue of Liberty.

The steps of Union Square. I don't know how many hours of my life I've spent just sitting there, thinking and doing nothing and observing the world go by.
And I always hang out at the Marriott Marquis too when I have half an hour to kill before a show. God bless the bathrooms lol.

Across the path from the Shakespeare Garden in Central Park, there's a big stone bench. In the summer especially, I can read there for hours.

The Bethesda Fountain. We got engaged on a bench just off to the left of the fountain. So gorgeous.
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

The deck outside of the 2nd floor of the mall at the Southstreet Seaport, overlooking the bridge. One of the most peaceful spots in the world to me.

Bryant Park-I can just sit there for a very long time and not even need to do anything but people watch.

Stockard, we will be able to afford to go to the city soon; after we declare our homes a church and no longer have to pay taxes.

Stockard it has been a bit over 2 years for me and I am going crazy!
My favorite spot is Bryant Park also. I finally got to the city around the Christmas Holidays in 2007. I always cut through Bryant Park on my way to shows and when I walked through during the holidays, I almost missed my curtain because I was wondering through all of the little shops. It was just beautiful.

Stockard, that's the plan. God knows I love Denver and the state of Colorado. (I mean, I have the Rockie Mountains in my back yard!) but I want to move back East. I just NEED to live in NYC. I am from Philly so it will also be nice to be near my family. And I can go to MoMA whenever I want!

Two of the quieter, less-well-known museums, both in former mansions of wealthy tycoons: The Frick and the Morgan.
But shhhhhh...don't tell anyone or you'll spoil them.

The Neu Museum and the Cloisters- esp in late spring. The gardens are a glory.
And a place that is not there - my friend K.'s sofa in his apt on 46th- som much laughter gone too soon.
