hey somms, ever try picking up your teeth with broken fingers?
dunno, d, maybe it's a mac thing, i'll look at finding another link later.
There you go again Papa, making me all hot and bothered.
But now the president has refused to repudiate the attack ads against Kerry's military service. John McCain called the ads "dishonest and dishonorable" and urged the White House to condemn them, saying, "It was the same kind of deal that was pulled on me," referring to the ads Bush used against him during the Republican primary.
How can a cocaine-addicted deserter have the balls to criticize the service of John McCain and John Kerry? What do you say to that, PapaLovesMambo?
papa quoting The Crying Game! I'm impressed! :)
i say that like the ad comparing bush to hitler that appeared on moveon.org's website that these ads are not and have not been produced by the white house, nor have they been approved by the president or financed by the rnc. they are on the other hand merely the thoughts and collected opinions of over 200 swift boat veterans. the white house has clearly stated on numerous occasions, "the bush-cheney campaign has never and will never question john kerry's service during vietnam." to accuse the president of complicity in this ad is to open kerry to that same criticism for every letf-wing crackpot group that manages to get a grant from george soros. goose, meet gander. ahhh let the 527's run free.
"refused to repudiate?"
no, they declined comment at this time. that's not exactly a ringing endorsement in my world. when they categorically deny to repudiate the ads and refuse on record to codemn them, try that, until then try sticking to the facts there, pal. the white house had no comment.
Oh so you mean Karl Rove didn't KNOW this group was going to attack Kerry's honorable service and he didn't KNOW the other ads were going to attack John McCain's honorable service.
You do know that the author John O'Neill was one of Richard Nixon's original "dirty tricks" operatives, don't you?
That he was first hired by the Republicans in 1971, when Charles Colson, Richard Nixon's main dirty-tricks man hired O'Neil to smear Vietnam vet Kerry, who was helping to raise support for the antiwar movement?
That Chuck Colson recently bragged that "We found a vet named John O'Neill and formed a group called Vietnam Veterans for a Just Peace. We had O'Neill meet the President, and we did everything we could do to boost his group."
And you do know that NONE of the men in the book who denounce Kerry's service in Vietnam actually served with the former Lieutenant, don't you? That of the SIX men who did serve on the swiftboat Kerry commanded, FIVE support his candidacy.
The other one, may he rest in peace, is deceased.
I call on the president to denounce this man. And you, PapaLovesMambo, would do so too...if you had any decency.
why? i still haven't forgiven kerry for '71 regardless of what tommy franks says. and if you bothered to read my posts, you'd know that i already pointed out who o'neill was in another thread.
i think it's great that they went after him. are they all lying? or does the truth lie somewhere in between. maybe if john kerry would release all of his naval records we could find out.
and i'm sure the president who doesn't bother reading newspapers is right now throwing together a press conference to answer demands made of him on a broadway message board. and which boat? #44 or #94 because stephen gardner who was on #44 has no love for johnny boy.
You know perfectly well that Stephen Gardner was on 44, the earlier boat, not 94 the boat in question.
Plus, Stephen Gardner has nothing specifically negative to say about John Kerry's service, except that he "looked for ways around problems."
But you don't care about facts. You just parrot Herr Rove's propaganda-of-the-day.
Not everyone agrees. Stephen Gardner, a gunner's mate on PCF-44, spoke out for the first time last month after hearing conservative radio commentator Rush Limbaugh question Kerry's war credentials. Gardner, who says "this country's in a world of trouble" if the Democrat is elected president, calls Kerry a "hesitant" commander who shunned danger.
Gardner, 56, claims Kerry retreated during a firefight under the pretense that he wanted to get Gardner medical attention. "It was a panic run," says Gardner, who calls his wound superficial. While he refuses to call Kerry a coward, he recalls "a guy who was protecting himself most of the time."

In Time Magazine in April, PCF-44’s Jim Wasser said that Stephen Gardner called him up "out-of-the-blue” to discuss their shared days together in Vietnam. “It was great” Wasser said. “You know he fought bravely in Vietnam. He is still a brother. I miss him. I would like to see him. But he has developed a strange, negative assessment of Lieutenant Kerry. It shocked me. His memory is dead wrong. He remembers things so differently.... He has some kind of weird grudge against Lieutenant Kerry.”
It's all politics. Shameful disgusting dirty-tricks politics.
Here's the Time magazine article.
The Tenth Brother
i'm surprised the changed the wording from "john kerry is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life."
Kerry's words on Stephen Gardner show Kerry's high level of integrity. From the end of that Time article:
“He deserves respect because he served our country well,” Kerry says of Gardner. “I left the country thinking well of Gardner and even tried to find him several times. But his stories are made up. It’s sad, but that’s the way it goes in war, and especially in politics.” And then he added: “But don’t ask me. I know the guys, my other crewmates, and they’ll set the record straight.”
uh huh, nobody believed bennett marco either and we saw how that worked out.
By flogging this disgraceful smear, you are showing yourself to be nothing more than a tool of the right wing.
Papa,
How about a nice game of solitaire?
aww, pal, i think you're a tool too. besides, i wan't the one who brought it up.
