Posted: 5/7/06 at 9:41pmThe Ghostwriter movie rocks my world. I haven't seen it since I was about ten.

Oh Zeppy, you're bringing me back!
What about Tang? It was *the* drink of choice by astronauts in outer space.
You're only a true '90s kid if you remember New Years Eve of '89 going into '90.
And speaking of Kool-Aid -- all the kids dying their hair with it! That was so cool.

Posted: 5/7/06 at 9:52pmMy God... I'm a senior and jsut when I've been getting these nostalgic feelings, this appears... I swear, on almost every single one I went, "I SO REMEMBER THAT!" Now I just have an even more desire to be a kid again.

Oh, these are all so true! My personal favourites (and therefore the ones that apply to me the most):
You can sing the rap to "The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air"
You remember when it was actually worth getting up early
on a Saturday to watch cartoons.
You have pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.
Captain Planet.
You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet or Nano and brought it
everywhere
You watched the original Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Ninja Turtles
You know the Macarena by heart.
The annoying Giga Pets & Furbies.
That "Little Mermaid"
Crying when Mufasa died in the Lion King.
Happy Meals where you chose a Barbie or a Hot Wheels car.
Getting the privelage to sit in the front seat of the car.
Watching Saturday Morning Cartoons in your PJ's still wrapped up in
your TMNT, Power Rangers, Barbie, Fairy Princess comforter.
Decisions were made by going 'eeny-meeny-miney-moe'.
It wasn't odd to have two or three 'best' friends.
When Aladdin was new, before the trilogy was complete.
Another Baby Sitter Club and Little Sister (Karen) book came out and
you put your name on hold for it at the library
-or in my case owned EVERY SINGLE book

wow, Heads Up Seven Up was that popular? I always thought it was like a regional thing. It's funny how when you're a kid you're oblivious to the world around you. I used to get so excited when all of a sudden a teacher would start the game up.
Oh how I miss the way Nickelodeon used to be. I used to watch Roundhouse and Fifteen, anybody remember those? I went to the Nickelodeon studios when I was little and got to watch them film a scene from Fifteen.
I was all about the MMC! I used to write in for a chance to meet the New Kids on the Block. Kids, INC was a guilty pleasure for me. Even as a kid I knew how cheesy it was. I was always a sucker for music though.
I loved the Babysitter's Club series. I tried to start a club with my friends, even. Had it all organized and planned out, but never got it started.
The "it" book in my elementary school library was "The Jolly Postman" (I think that's the title). It had actual letters and postcards you could pull out of the pages and read. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

I tried to start one too! Of course, the fact that I was only about 8 never seemed to occur to me when I was doing this.
By the way, how old do you have to be to babysit in the States? I've always thought it was funny that they were all 13 or under, as you have to be 14 to babysit here.

Anyone remember MY BUDDY and KID SISTER?
Ahh, those were the days...you could just buy a friend for $14.99 at the local Toys R Us.

Posted: 5/8/06 at 9:48amOMG Fifteen! I love how I was like seven years old and yet related to that show. A while back my family was at Universal Studios and we met the entire male cast!!! My sister and I were so excited. We couldn't find our aunt and they helped us look for her! I had a picture of it somewhere, probably long gone by now *sigh*

Oh I love this!
I desperately want "Secret World of Alex Mack" to come out on DVD. I miss that show.
Anyone remember the season finale with her evil twin?

OMG I SO remember the finale of Alex Mack! Sigh Good times!
It's so weird I'm turning 17 this year and looking back on all this stuff is so odd....
I FEEL OLD!

"Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofu#43re: for those who actually grew up in the 90's
Posted: 5/9/06 at 9:19pmI miss those days. Things were so much easier then. You didn't have to deal with college and roommate problems and term papers.

Was anyone else a huge beanie baby freak? I had over 200, I think...I lost count after a while.
And I still miss the old All That. Best show ever.

My grandma got more into the beanie baby thing for me than anything else. She'd go early in the morning and wait in line to buy them. Now, they're all stuffed in some plastic bags in my basement, so that was worth it...
And a big YES to the old All That! I watched it religiously and might even have its sountrack on a cassette tape somewhere...

"You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school"
I TOTALLY REMEMBER THESE DAYS! Oregon Trail was AMAZING!
If only we had Oregon Trail days in College... I'd be set.

Born in '87. Ah. Good times.
Ghostwriter is possibly the reason why I want to BE a writer. I just thought it was the best show ever.
And All That was hilarious to me as a kid. It's like SNL for nine-year-olds.
