So is there anyone in your life (family member or friend) who makes you feel bad about being on BWW so much? My mom hates that i'm on constantly and makes me feel guilty.
P.S. Happy Halloween

No one knows. It's basically like a secret love-child.

My sister is the only one who knows and she is afraid that I'm going to get raped by using the message boards.

My parents are the same way, Fabrizio. I told them I don't say much, just read, and they were ok with that. They were even more ok when info. I got from here got us insanely cheap tickets to a show.
But otherwise, no one really knows I'm on here.
My wife just questions how I have so much free time at work each day to be spent posting on BWW. I tell her that I am just multi-tasking because I am that good.

i go on this site because everyone on here shares a common interest. not many of my friends are into broadway and that's why i like this site. my mom thinks i'm just wasting time.

When I was still with the bookstore, my coworkers would laugh at me when I would crack up over stuff I read here. None of them participated in any internet forums, so they just teased me about becoming an "internet junkie".
Although, one time a customer was relating a tragic story to me about her husband's death and the subsequent funeral plans, etc. I happened to glance down and see a particularly funny thread title and burst out laughing - while she was in mid-sentence. She was offended, I was mortified, and I learned a very valuable lesson that day. Now, when I log on to BWW, I am alone.
My wife used to hate that I was on here all the time, but I think she gave up! haha.

WW - it's probably a good thing you stopped there with your description
It's okay.
I'm wearing pants.
This time.
I occasionally bring up my "Broadway message board" to some of my friends. It's always met with eyerolls and telling me to get a life.
I know much better than to tell my parents.
I dated a guy who was terribly jealous of bww and my friends here.
Needless to say, we're no longer dating.

Well at least I'm not the only one. See, the thing people don't understand is that we don't have a lot of people to talk to about our interests. They can talk about all their music/movies with everyone else who likes Panic at the Disco or whatever (and I'm definitely not putting those down... I know people on here like them- they're just more accessible). None of my friends like theatre and can't analyze the inner workings of it like I do. So otherwise I would have no one to talk to it about. Even my theatre friends can't talk about Grey Gardens and Chess and Norm Lewis. It usually ends at Adam Pascal and if I'm lucky they actually know he was in Cabaret.
Most of my friends are theater queens -- but if one of my friends disrespects me for something I enjoy, then they're obviously not my friend.
One should not feel guilty for something they take pride in or are passionate about. That's just silly.
My fiance keeps threatening to take away my lap top lol. I keep telling him I really just read and post occasionally but he doesn't believe me.
