so i need to stay up the other night on a drive from LA to San Diego... so i'm not a big coffee drinker and i didn't want to try an energy drink like Red Bull.. so i decided to try the 5 hour energy shot... and it definitely worked... i wasn't wired or hyper or anything but i was awake... i took it at 10pm and i couldn't really sleep until well past 4am... anyways... before i took it i was scared that there might be side effects... i didn't have any but when i told my friends i took it they kind of freaked out... does anyone know if these little shots can pose a health problem?

I took them fairly frequently for a while and didn't have any problems. Your friends probably freaked out because it does sound kind of sketchy. I haven't heard of anyone having problems with it though, although everyone's different. If you have a heart attack... well, that could be a problem.

You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree.

I heard they knock the shift key right off your keyboard, replace your punctuation with ellipses and insert the word so at the beginning of all of your thoughts.

you needed this to stay up for a 1 3/4 hour drive?????
How old are you, 95????

Good God, what is happening to kids today?

I wonder what kind of drugs you'd need for a drive between LA and SF...

I've tried them. They do give you a nice boost, but honestly I prefer cocaine.

It's illegal--as well as very dangerous--to drive while sleep impaired. My uncle swerved off of the Belt Parkway and crashed into a tree in the early nineties. He wound up with a tracheostomy tube in his throat and lost his voice. He also wound up choking to death on the tube and having a heart attack while alone in the house. He was staying with my parents (recuperating after the accident and subsequent surgeries) and I was the one who found him dead.

Be careful.

SO who cares if i type with all ellipses and begin my sentences with so... deal with it... damn half you people on this message board are pricks for no reason...

SO i jut took it like i did any shot... i downed it.. it wasn't as nasty as i thought it would be

SO yeah the drive was only an hour or so... but i've been doing that drive for the past 8 years... and it's BORING... i usually drive up to Los Angeles to visit friends and i'm out and about all day... and I only like to make the drive at night so as to miss all the traffic... and the last few times i've been driving past 10pm i get a little sleepy because i don't rest during the day...

Mark this on the list of threads that have turned nasty.

I wish there was a thread where we could just bitch and complain to our hearts content.

hehe Sally, those last two posts were great.

I repeat....anyone needing something to keep them awake for a 1.5hr drive from LA to SD has bigger issues and needs to see a doctor, or a shrink, or based on your last entry....BOTH!
