how important are head shots for school?

So I finally got my head shots done, but now I cant decide which one to use?
Am I making too much of this? Is it really THAT important?

one really good trick is to take the sheet that has small prints of all the headshots and look at it upside down. It really does help.

This may sound silly but I have 3 headshots printed for different things. 1 is for big cattle call auditions which is my smiley picture, just to show who I am as a person...and then I have one that makes me look kind of young for shows where I'm auditioning for a younger role. I have my serious headshot for the more serious shows.

I would say for colleges, use the one that personifies you.


Plus if you ever completely change your look....new headshots! haha

Actually, every school I've asked has wanted me to have a professional headshot.

Are you auditioning for undergrad or grad schools?

I'm in grad school now. Most of my classmates came in with great headshots, but not all. One guy in the class ahead of me got in using a photograph that looked like it was taken in a greenroom in front of a piece of artwork.

I think a good headshot is a good idea. Is that you in your avatar? Because if so, that looks great.
