Posted: 11/23/13 at 12:02ambryan, I think the themes are about a lot more than just kids killing kids. But I know what you mean. I haven't read the books like SweetLips said to but I think I probably should since I really liked the first movie and I can't wait to see the second one next week!

Bryan,Jordan-Film before book or book before film-I did this book before film and the film did not destroy my imagination of the characters or the Panem world. Can I recommend a book called The World of The Hunger Games by Kate Egan.It 'simplifies' the first story with lots of pictures from the film so it helps you understand more about the first film if you havn't read the 3 books.I also have The Hunger Games--The Official Illustrated Movie Companion-also by Kate Egan.Enjoy the journey through hope --and Love.

Posted: 11/25/13 at 10:54amKids killing kids is not a new concept in literature. Or in life, for that matter. Even the games and the dystopian world of the books are not original in any way, but the concept and themes have always been popular.
