Yes I do. The Hotspot feature however drains the battery fairly quickly. I am sure it will be the same with the Iphone. I only se it when the phone is going to be connected. But it has proved very useful.. and quick.

Interesting.
I've stuck with Verizon - so have been waiting for this announcment. However, given all of this discussion (and other discussions along the same line with co-workers), I'm leaning toward upgrading my Verizon phone to something else - but not the iPhone.
Thanks for the suggestions.

They all do. But I love Apple. Have tried to go with other things throughout the years as far as MP3 players and stuff. But they just don't compare.

I need a new phone. I've had an upgrade available since October, my 2-year contract ends this month, the screen on my Blackberry cracked last month, and now the speaker is broken and no sound comes out. I've been holding out because when I went to Verizon back in December, I was totally unimpressed with the selection.
I've had a Curve for 2 years now, but I don't use the majority of the features on it. They were never all that great, but ever since they started requiring a PayPal login to buy new apps, I haven't even considered getting one. I love BBM, but the iPhone texting is similar enough that I could adjust. I could never go back to normal texting again.
I've looked at the Droid X, but I don't know, I wasn't all that impressed. I think partly because I have an iPad already, so I'm already familiar with that system, and because I'd have to re-buy any apps. I know a lot of people who switched from Blackberry loved Droids, but I'd be interested to know- now that it's an option- how the Droid compares to an iPhone, on the same network. A lot of problems AT&T had with the iPhone were due to high volume usage, so I'm sure all Verizon phones will be effected as well in the coming months.

I wouldn't do another Blackberry right now. Hopefully in a few years they will manage to catch up or reinvent themselves. I had the Curve 8330 for two years and I loved it. But having moved on I could never go back. I think if you already have a Ipad and you are used to that system then I would definitely go with the Iphone. I have both a Droid X and a Ipad. My other half has the older Iphone. really.. they are all great products with pros and cons. As far as Verizon vs ATT.. I have been with Verizon for years.. when they were known as Airtouch. I have NEVER had a big issue with their service. My hubby has been with att for 6 years and can't say the same.

I have been on the fence whether to get an iPhone or Droid, depending on the day that's the preference. Droid is winning by a slim margin because all my information (contacts, calendar, docs on the cloud) are on google. Yet the iPhone beckons now.

It is, Dame. From what I've read Droid syncs well with a mac.

My biggest issue with the #$%^(*@!! BlackBerry has been it's inability to communicate with google - both the calendar and contacts are all messed up.

Time for a new phone DD. I do think you should stick with the Droids since your stuff is on google. It syncs with all my google info beautifully and effortlessly.

That "new every two" is so aggravating. I'm eligible for it, and then some.
So - I've more or less decided to go with the Droid X. If I buy it from Verizon, the net cost will be $149.99, plus tax, coming to $164.61 (that's after the $50 new every two discount).
If I buy it from Amazon.com, it will cost me $79.99. No tax, no shipping. Same phone, same Verizon service, same everything else (and a better return policy with Amazon than with Verizon).
So even with the "new every two" discount it would cost me more than double to buy it from Verizon.
What a joke/ripoff.

But I thought current customers were still eligible for their final "new every 2." No?
Did I interpret this wrong?
Existing customers will lose the perk when they renew their contracts (unless they renew before Jan. 16—but that date is well before iPhone orders will be taken).
As a current Verizon customer, what can I expect to pay for the Iphone? The $199/$299 price?
