How do I turn the music off on my phone? No matter what I do the songs keep playing. Thanks.

Turning off my phone completely turned off my music.

In the music app go to the "now playing" screen and hit pause.

Or, if your phone is locked (i.e. when the screen is off, before you swipe to unlock and/or enter your passcode) you can double click the home button and it will bring up music player controls where you can also pause it.

Or if you are not in the music app then you can also double click the home button and swipe to your right to bring up controls for the music app and pause it from there as well.

If no pause button ever appears when doing any of these things (since I'm assuming you are playing music through the built in app and not another app that you downloaded) then it's time to make an appointment at the Genius Bar.

Or just reset the iPhone if you really can't find it. Hold down the power button (on top) and the home button until it turns off and then the apple appears on the screen again.
