is it a bad idea?

hello! im new here but i would like to have your honest opinion about a subject that has been on my mind.

I'm applying for college in the next school year (aka 3-4 months) and I genuinely love musical theatre, am passionate about it, and would like to pursue it as a career. However, I have very little talent (in my opinion) and very little formal training. I have done theatre for 5 years, musical theatre for 3, I started taking singing lessons last year (I'm 17 now) and I have only had 2 years of dance training (which was when i was around 11). I see broadway starts who started at such a young age but under the circumstances I was in, I wasn't able to do what I want until recently.

Although I want to pursue it, I feel as if i'm not ready to major in it, and I wont get far with how little experience I have. Especially when it comes to singing; I just started and that's an important factor in musical theatre. Because I'm so behind, i'm scared that i'll end up not finding a job and my education would be wasted.

So realistically speaking, is it a good idea to pursue a career in musical theatre? Thank you!
