i'm pretty sure i could've written The Five People you meet in heaven in the fourth grade and have it be more sophisticated than Mitch Albom's version...

i didn't find there to be anything original in that book... and he tried to shove his message down the reader's throat on every other page...

oh, the writing style in that book was not nearly as bad as Dan Brown's. And I didn't think it was terribly predictable. but that's just me...

Did you read Tuesdays With morrie? I really loved that, too.

i couldn't make myself read more than five pages of Tuesdays with Morrie... i just feel like his writing is so pedestrian, his messages are so cliche and that he writes in order to make money

Well I enjoyed Tuesdays With Morrie under the basis that it's a real-life story and therefore, yes, it's going to be cliche. Real life tends to be cliche, that's how cliches tend to develop.

I thought The Leonardo Code was a really good book! I've read it twice, and both times I couldn't put it down.

Fiction Writer.... do you refer to The Da Vinci Code as The Leonardo Code? Because that has always been one of my HUGE complaints about the book... he was such an idiot that he couldn't even title his book correctly...

well, plot-wise Dan Brown's books are compelling but I rolled my eyes about every other sentence. Especially when lisening to the audiobookk with my father. I'd just randomly burst out laughing. It was so funny, how much exposition he tried to shove into random places where it didn't belong and how everything would be so overedramatized.

YES! Oh my god... I've always thought I was the only one who could read.

Never has Leonardo signed "da Vinci" on ANY of his work.

I've never called it The da Vinci Code. (Which, if that was the correct title, is how it would be spelled.)

I wouldn't ever say, "Yes, my name is Austin Of the Bennett Steels." Of isn't capitalized. Ever.

To the person who posted about placing the Bibles in the fiction section...

It doesn't seem like that makes any great statement about religion. It might make you feel clever, but in fact, it seems like you're just having folks working for just over minimum wage have more busy-work to do.

But that's me...

Here's my definition about the "Great Book":

Man wrote it.
Man decided what was in it.
Man put it in a nice leather binding with a fancy bookmark.
And then he sold it.

I really doubt God had anything to do with it.
