Posted: 10/3/04 at 4:09amthe problem with a lot of parties is that the people usually aren't all that interesting, especially if they don't relate to the theatre scene. the best is a small party of like 10-15 people with something in common. then good alcohol and wearing something hot is like the icing on the cake.

I know!!! it's like, no one cares about broadway, they just bash it, (ugh), and thenif I find someone who does like broadway, we might just be competing to be more knowledgeble, talented, or sucessful than the other person. (theater people sometimes), so that's why I don't like people sometimes...theater is a good job for me, in a way, because you don't actually have to come up with what to say to people.
I love wearing hot clothes:) It's like, yah, what everyone else said

Posted: 10/3/04 at 4:17amthat's a really good point nobiz. i'm always so relieved by the time i find someone to talk to at a lot of parties, someone who knows their musicals, it often just turns into "well, IIIII performed the world premiere of blah blah blah...". sometimes it's bragging, but sometimes I think it's just trying to prove that you're "legit" not just someone who's heard the CATS CD a few times.

oh my god, if people danced to showtunes and had showtune dance parties, the world would be perfect!!
i teach drama to kids age 6-11 over the summer, and I always make them listen to my showtunes at lunch and during Musical Chairs. they complain at first, but when a 7 year old goes home and asks their parents to buy an Into The Woods CD, I feel like I've made a difference.
