hehehe i can picture the exact scenario you're talking about rose. a showtune comes on everyone loves (RENT if it's high school, WILD PARTY if it's college) and everyone suddenly focuses really hard on "acting" out the song, only with a beat! why hasn't there been a Broadwayorld showtune dance party yet?!!

but everyone will think I'm weird! It's like a really tense place, no one talks or smiles, and all the music is pop stuff. If a showtune came on everyone would be like, wtf is this? ugh

I played a showtune during a weekend once....actually 2
I used them as slow songs, didn't go over half bad

showtunes get a bad rap from everyone else. it's hard to imagine myself not loving showtunes, but i'd probably think we were really lame if I didn't understand their brilliance

people are just soo blah, i mean, showtunes are way better than rap and usher and w/e! at school, people are like, opera and broadway aren't music, it's just screaming. I want to laugh at that, but it's really frustrating!! why can't they see the light?

if there was 1 showtune dance club in NY it would do really well i think! i guess the piano bars are the equivalent, a bunch of drunk showtune freaks. only instead of dancing, we sit around a piano and shout stuff.

nobiz, i feel bad for you with how bad music has gotten. i was in high school 1997-2001 and the music had just started getting really crappy. there was still some radio stuff i could enjoy. but the music now is soooooooo awful, I couldn't handle my peers trying to compare it to broadway

lol showtunes are the best! i swear its like all i ever listen to anymore just about and all my "friends" laugh at me and think im weird so i understand ya there nobiz but like yea we should totally get together and start a showtune dance club, wed make hella money! hehehehe

I know!!!!! It's like, someone at my school literally said opera and broadway aren't music, and rap, usher and everything they like is! I was like speechless, I mean, why even try to come up with an arguement about that, it's like, hello! that made me soo mad because broadway and music are my life, and their life is....i dunno, and so they just think they know more about ti than me!! omg!! frustration!
