either I am getting old, or I am boring. The highlight of my day today will be going to see the new, state-of-the-art, Rancho Mirage Public Library, Main Library, open only for two weeks. This is Californias newest library, and is truly something special!

You're just a big ol' geek. I recognize my own kind.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson

Elphaba, in this day and age, the news of a library's opening instead of closing should be a national event.

Have fun!

Lol! I love the little things in life. There are so many more of them than there are big things. xM3L24x, I can appreciate mech pencils and they are pretty! I get excited over buying new place mats for the table - especially if they're bamboo, wicker or woven grass. Wow!
Elphaba, a first-class library sounds fine to me! Just call me Grizza-geek!

I get excited whenever someone response to one of my threads. I have a weird complex that people will think what I post is stupid and ignore me.

Post-its excite me too :) Updated On: 1/14/06 at 03:13 PM

If little things really excite you, just wait till you try a BIG thing!

Mamie, if I didn't know better, I'd think you were referring to . . . but I know that could never be. I just know it.

Hehe.

it is an amazing library, got a private tour from the Children's librarian........they have a numbered Steinway grand worth, according to her over $100k. The Annenbergs and Fords donated money for the land.......it has SO many floor to ceiling windows, whole walls of them, and the views are incredible.......I think I may move into that library

Elphaba that sounds wonderful! There is nothing wrong with getting excited about a new (or old) library. Personally I love exploring libraries, especially when I get the chance to be shown around by an insider.

yoda, it is simply amazing. Once their website is back up, I'll PM you the link.......I felt like I was in (what I imagine) would be the Great Library of Alexandria, if it were built now.

I love getting lost in a library, finding quirky books to pick up or a dog-eared novel by an unheard-of author.

But as far as getting excited by the little things - I get excited about opening up a new jar of peanut butter or opening up my window to let the smell of the rain in. It really is all about the little things.

Well, since we talk about little things that excite me ...

The pure joy and happiness that my dog shows, when I return home
A phone call or an e-mail from a friend
Snow
The reciprocation of a flirt by a guy I like
