looks like they are going to remake The Wizard of Oz

I'm not against the idea of a WIZARD remake (especially if they put some of the wierd stuff Baum wrote back in), but this sounds truly terrible.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

Weren't there reports that Sam Raimi would be doing an Oz prequel (I guess pre-Dorothy, not familiar with the stories) with Robert Downey Jr. as The Wizard? I like that idea much more than this. Overwrought and campy as Raimi can be, I think he can have a completely independent, but still interesting vision of Oz.

Give it 4 or 5 years till we see it on the screen. I predict ALW's version will close after 2 years on Broadway, after which he will try to shop the show around after it closes. I think if a film studio is going to redo the movie they will wait to see how sucessful Webber/Rice's version is.

Andrew Lloyd Weber presents the sequel to The Wizard of Oz "Hate Never Dies"

In this much anticipated sequel, Dorothy realizes that Oz is in terrible danger. When the witch melted, Dorothy had assumed she was dead. However Dorothy's chemistry teacher never taught her that water mixed with another compound just means that the compound is diluted, not obliterated. The monkey slaves gathered all the little witch droplets, put them into a tanning bed to dry them out and brought the witch back to life. Dorothy must return to Oz to save Glinda and the munchkins.

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
