During certain weather conditions we had low-flying planes that rattled the desks (and sometimes awoke the students). It was even worse when the Concord was flying. There were times it would cause the building to shake and several cars in the neighborhood had their alarms go off due to it.

On the grounds of Baltimore-Washington International Airport, there's an airport access road called the Airport Loop that passes by one of the runways. There's a point where the beginning of the runway is about 200-250 feet from the road.
I remember a few years ago we were driving to the airport on that road. We were in my father's old car, which had a sunroof, and a plane was coming in to land. The sunroof wasn't open, but we could look up and see the plane overhead. Everyone in the car instinctively ducked cause the plane was so low, it looked like it was going to hit the car. The wheels of the plane couldn't have been more than 30 feet above the car. It was definitely a freaky experience!
