i have never stayed there, but i've been to the bar on the 8th floor... i love it! yeah, you're too young to drink i know, but they have these cool cheesecake lollipops (or something like that) that my friend and i wanted to get. we were broke though, so we stuck with the alcohol. but definitely get those and tell me how they are! plus, the bar has an amazing view of times square
Well.. um.. I haven't exactly stayed there but I can tell you the beds are standard and the rooms are very small. but you are in the middle of everything.
DAME! is that supposed to mean what I think it means???

Oh, the bar also has the most AMAZING liquid chocolate cake. One of the best things I've ever eaten.
Seriously. Try it :0)
It's a really nice hotel! You can't beat the location. The rooms are nice, clean, and pretty sylish. However the elevators were a little slow when I stayed there (2003), but they were going under a renovation then, so I think they might be faster now.
I hung out there last week or so and the elevators were DEFINITELY improved.

The elevators are much better than before - but it's still impossible to find an open bathroom when you're in a rush.

I stayed there in March. It is so nice. The elevators took forever though. I loved it. Make sure you check out the workout room that overlooks Times Square. That's pretty cool stuff. The rooms are nice. Pretty standard, but we had a great view. I stayed with three other girls. They had no tv preference, and mine was to keep in on the Broadway preview channel all the time. That was fun (they're not that into theatre). Great hotel, great location.
They have a bar on the 8 th floor but it has been closed for sometime. I think the reason is that a number of people have recently committed suicide by jumping off higher floors & landing on the bar or surrounding areas. Maybe they closed it hoping that this would stop them ( so far it has ) or maybe they could not get any bartenders to work the area
We were in it a few weeks ago . The bar was still closed & some of the escalators were not working as they were being repaired. We stayed there a few years ago for our anniversary & it was OK. Much better than the Millenium a few streets down.
The view from the revolving restaurant is great

When I was in NYC, Emcee and I bought dinner and took it to the hotel's lobby, lol. She is such a rebel. Very nice...and expensive.
Oh, and those elevators...you feel like you are on an amusement park ride.

On the debit side, the exterior of the building is huge and horrendously ugly.
The lobby looks like a whorehouse. Like someone spent 20 million at Costco to decorate.
Yes, you are right there in the thick of it, but the hotel has the charm of crypt.
For this cement box 5 theatres and a good tourist class hotel were torn down.
My sister-in-law swears by it, I find it quite ugly. (the bar does make a good martini but also a bit on the $$$ side)

It's a really busy hotel. As long as you don't mind that, you'll enjoy it. I prefer the Righa on 54th street. The rooms are all suites and it's a much quieter place to stay.
