I was just wondering if there are sequels to musicals. For a show that was really successful. I'm sure it's a stupid question but I'm on sprng break and have a lot of time on my hands so i was just wondering...thanks!

There was Grease 2, but that was a movie, and not performed on stage, so maybe that doesn't count. Then again, it probably shouldn't count, anyway. *Shudder*

Every so often ALW threatens to write a "Phantom 2". (Apparently he realized he didn't steal all of Puccini's music on the first attempt).

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Well, it isn't a sequal - but Wicked is a prequal (kind of the same thing in terms of making one show based off another).

A sequal to Wicked? Dear, g-d, no!

"Let 'Em Eat Cake" was the Gershwin's flop sequel to "Of Thee I Sing".

No Broadway sequel has ever been a hit.

The Plaid spin-offs arwe not really sequels. "Plaid Tidings" uses some material from the original Forever Plaid, and adds a whole bunch of Christmas songs. "Sounds of Plaid" has the songs from the original, rearranged for a larger cast of boys and girls - in other words, it's designed to be done by high school groups who could never find four amazing guys to learn all that harmony. It's more of a "swing chior" show.

Wicked has a sequal....it's called The Wizard of Oz

"Let the little girl go, and that poor little dog? Dodo." That's my favorite line in the whole show (Wicked). My next favorite line is "Oh! It seems the artichoke is steamed."

technically "the wizard of oz" cannot be considered a sequel to "wicked". "the wizard of oz" is a sequel to nothing, it's the first in a long series of classic books by l. frank baum. it was later adapted into various stage and film incarnations. "wicked" the book and the stage show are among those variations on the oz theme. but "wicked" is not a *true* pre-quel to "oz".

Disney is bringing Lion King 1 1/2 and II to the stage. Then they are brining Cinderella II and 101 Dalmatians VII the following year.

Snoopy- The Musical.

Whether it's intention was or was not, it says in the CD booklet that "Snoopy is the musical sequel to 'You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown."
