My director is looking for a musical next year that includes many youthful characters. You have to help me - she is considering Footloose. Not that there's anything wrong with Footloose, but it would be nice to do a show that hasn't been done thousands of times. Does anyone know of lesser-known, teenagey musicals?

Margot Serena Pilar knows the obvious answer -- 13!

It won Best Musical, Score, and Sound Design when it originally opened in 1983! Sure-fire hit!

13 opened in January 2007 in Los Angeles and then ran on Broadway October 2008-January 2009. I'm assuming you're talking about Tonys, and 13 did not receive any of the awards that you mentioned.
