Dollypop, I REALLY like that idea- but I'd imagine it would make it quite humid, no?

I cranked the heat so now it's not so bad. My housemates can screw themselves.

Of course my room is the coldest in the house, so I also spend the most time in the shower in my family trying to "defrost".

The windows in my dorm room don't fully close, and we can't control the heat, so I'm sitting here wearing 3 layers and a blanket and am still freezing. Of course, it's an even bigger problem when it rains.

Do you not have a repair order you can file with your college? We had a system where you reported any problems like that to the dorm front desk and they sent someone to fix it within a week no matter how crazy the problem. When I was in the dorms last year I lucked out and got into one of the few dorms with air conditioning. Our radiator under our window never wrked at all though the room seemed plenty warm. One day I was moving a dresser and my hand hit the wall next to the radiator and it was as warm as the radiator should have been. The heat pipes behing the cinderblock wall was heating our room instead of the radiator.

haha. At least you were getting some form of heat, though, right? (trying to see the positive!)
They're not so on-top-of-things here. We were too lazy to call anyone before and just put towels under the window when it rained, but now that it's so cold, my roomie called and left a message with facilities a while ago. They haven't responded yet. So I'm hoping they'll come and fix it soon!

thank god i have the warmest room in the house at home and im actually home during winter. i get extremely cold extremely easily and its soo nice to have the warmest room, i seriously would die if i didnt have this heat. i feel sorry for u guys, good luck!
