Well, okay ... I bitch about those rarefied bleeding hearts overly obsessed with animal rights when people are homeless, starving, unrinsured and dying ... and yet ... and yet ... the current ASPCA psa with the too-on-the-nose "Angel" sung in classic heart rending style by Sarah McLachlan reduces me to a puddle. Could it make the case any stronger?
Just as the wonderful commercial with re-attached rabbit feet brought one kind of tears, this damn thing with the one-eyed dogs, bruised puss kitty cats, and entire lonely, unloved lot in cages gets to me. Especially when I'm tired and have had a coupla glasses of vino. Got me so worked up, I had to pre-order YEAR OF THE DOG today from Amazon.

i dont think i would be able to watch that without crying. that's the song that made me feel a little better yesturday thinking that my dog was now in the arms of an angel and being taken care of by angels.
i wish i had a huge house and a huge yard and lots of money so i could rescue all those pets.
i try ot give as many as i can homes though.
i honestly dont think my mom even knows how many pets we have since so many of them live in my bedroom.

I'm tearing up reading your description of the commercial. God help me if I ever actually SEE it. I feel slightly better knowing I just sent money to the Humane Society.
I wish I was rich so that I could donate money to all my favorite charities. Sigh...

That psa makes me bawl.
Both of my babies (one is pictured in my avi. the other is a bit camera-shy) I adopted from the local SPCA.
Now for my psa...if you are committed to having a pet, please adopt!
