in an international celebration of spin, the president will accept a nobel peace prize for his decision to expand the war in afghanistan.
granted it's a decision i agree with, but the chutzpah of accepting the nobel peace prize by defending your decision to send 30k more troops into a war zone seems, uh, curious.
it does give hope to robert mugabe who plans to unleash widespread slaughter in hopes of receiving his own peace prize next year.

Posted: 12/8/09 at 12:30pmi would have liked to see him deliver a speech a few days after the announcement which thanked them for the honor and stress how huge an honor it was. then list off the other finalists and their accomplishments. then point out that while he has great hope that eventually his accomplishments will place him in consideration for the prize that he has much to do to be considered worthy in his own eyes of such a prize. fort his reason he must respectfully ask that they reconsider their decision and ask that he be removed for consideration at this time.
