What is the nature of 2?
I believe that 2 + 2 = 4 is an ideal pushed upon us by the religious right. After all, if 2 committed people equals 1 couple, then it is entirely possible that 2 + 2 could equal 2, which is not 4. Because 4 is too small for a dinner party, but 2 is perfect for an intimate gathering.
