c'mon, sueleen, she's in college, she's supposed to have a drinking problem. she's what? 20? if you're not falling on your head drunk as a monkey at age 20 while you're doing college theatre, then you have no soul. i personally have little or no recollection of entire months of my college career.
papa, and when was the last time YOU were starring on Broadway.
I rest my case. My case of scotch!
I think Sueleen seems to need a drink more than anyone in this thread.
Papa, you act like only the 20 year olds on this board are raging alcoholics.
Puh.leaze.
John, I don't drink alcohol anymore. I just use a vodka enema. It gets you drunk faster and no one can smell it on your breath!
20's too young to appreciate one's alcoholism. If you're going to be an alcoholic, at least wait until you're old enough for it to ruin your life so you know it all meant something.

Just make sure you write the memoirs before it's too late.

haha Sueleen, I appreciate your concern but I'm with Papa on this one. I am in university, and I assure you, without delusion, that my dalliances are simply part of the culture. Comparatively, I abstain quite a bit. I have not gone out or had a drink SINCE the foot incident as an actual way to punish myself. That said, this weekend is homecoming weekend, and I will be drinking! But it has been a week. And I certainly don't NEED alcohol. I drink MUCH MUCH less now than I even did two years ago. My friends are still able to go out every other night drinking. I go MAYBE once a week, two when the weeks aren't busy, and possibly as many as three times during special occasions (like Frosh Week- the week in question- I went out three times and declined invitations for the other four nights, some even before I injured my foot).
As a performer, I am very careful. I'm crazy, yes, but I also make sure to never speak too loudly in bars. I get enough rest, I eat healthy, I take care of myself, I just occasionally go on good college-style benders. C'est la vie!

oh and I'm 21 now!! legal globally, which was good considering I spent the summer in L.A.!!!!
Me personal checklist:
Head through doctor's office wall.
Leg in bike spoke as a little kid.
Passed out on exercise bike screwed up elbow.
Broken kneecap while playing something known as "The Tripping Game".
Hyperextended knee while seeing how high I could skip in our theatre's lobby. (I'm a 6'4 big adult male.)
20% of those were alcohol related.
Binge drinking may be a form of alcoholism in itself. And can certainly lead to it. The old, "I don't drink as much as my friends do" or "I don't drink as nearly as much as I used to" will not keep you from becoming addicted to alcohol. Can you go out on a Friday night and have only 1 beer?
And obviously you don't take too good care if you broke a foot while drunk and don't remember the incident. What will this do to your performance classes this year? No dancing, I would think.

As a baby, for some bizarre reason I could only crawl backwards. (No, my motor skills weren't that great. Actually, "aren't" would be a more accurate term.) Inevitably, my method of locomotion led to disaster- one day I somehow managed to burn the back of my hand on a gas-flame radiator. I still have the scar. Good times.
it's clear that even as a baby you were a raging alcoholic, plum.

I often go out to a bar and don't drink at ALL so only having one drink certainly isn't a problem!!! The foot thing was the first incident of its nature.....I appreciate your concern, but there is a bigger picture to all of it to be able to categorize as you are trying to do.
I am just saying to be careful. Even before your return your posts had an unhealthy obsession with getting or being drunk.
I'm not trying to be too hard on you, it's just that there seems to be a pattern and I thought I would point it out.
Sorry if that bothers you.

haha point taken, i guess I just post at inopportune times then. And most of my posting was in second year, when i WAS out drinking too much. As I have said, that has entirely changed.
sueleen, i am very concerned that your concern really lessens the possibility that judy will get loaded and post photos of herself in varying states of undress and that is something that really concerns me.

oh papa, your concern for the concern doesn't concern me- it makes me laugh!
oh leave the hottie, semi drunkie college girl alone =P

not much of a vodka girl, more the gin and rum type. But my first loves are beer and red wine.
I just cracked open a Keiths (only the best Canadian beer EVER- I was very dissapointed I couldn't drink it all summer in the U.S. of A- you guys are missing out). HOMECOMING 2006 has officially begun!
gin? no wonder you are breaking things. that stuff's poison.

no no, that night featured beer. Just beer. Free beer, actually. Which is better beer.
Although gin and lime is just WONDERFUL. The only reason I'm into rum is because I brought home a million bottles from Cuba. Again, you Americans are missing out.
ohhhhhhh a rum girl,. sigh you would love gainesville =)
=)
"Binge drinking" is a total sham. If you're a girl, binge drinking is defined as 4 or more drinks in one day. There are perfectly healthy, responsible people that have a few drinks spread out over the entire day that are now considered borderline alcoholics by Sueleen because of a ridiculously conservative definition.
You can drink a lot, get drunk a lot and still not be an alcoholic. And there's also alcohol abuse, which is different in that you don't have the addiction.
