"The fun of watching Mr. Cabrera on stage was the fun of watching a 22-year-old man scrambling to please fans who weren't quite sure if they wanted a confidant or a lover, someone to talk to or someone to talk about. Had he come to join the group of girls or to break it up?
Mr. Cabrera had to find a way to do both at once, reminding his listeners that he was a boy while also helping them to forget it. The night ended with "True," in which he promises: "I won't move till you finally see/ That you belong with me." And Mr. Cabrera sang much of the song in a falsetto voice nearly as high and thin as the ones that sang it back to him."

Thought this funny, esp. since there were "rumors" that Ryan was going to be the next Roger in Rent.
I thought the rumors were about him being considered as Mark in Rent.
I thought the rumors were about him being Mark as well.

Are you serious? Listen:
I saw him at Rent exactly a week ago! People couldn't stop realizing that he was dating Ashley, who is Jessica's sister, who is married to Nick, who's brother is Drew, who is Mark in Rent. Anyway, I don't have much inside info, except that he was walking around the place during intermisson, and no one acted like he was there. Then he left early duing curtain call. But I was amazed that no one was asking him for an autograpgh, probably because I don't often see a guy like him that close. Anyways, that's it. I can't see him playing Mark though...

i liked this article, and the implications (like that he was dating Ashley for the PR and exposure on her show). That Simpson dad is a pretty savvy one...some think Jessica's marriage to Nick is all about the PR and exposure too (their individual fame fading, so the combo putting them back in the limelight...which is a ploy from the old studio system days). If so, it's definitely paid off.
i was surprised on NEWLYWEDS that more of Drew being in RENT was not featured, as Nick visited him in NYC for the holidays. Seems as if RENT would appreciate that, but perhaps Drew is not managed by Daddy Simpson.
Speaking of which (not to threadjack MUCH) but did anyone else notice the gay couple included in Nick & Jessica's New Year's houseparty? i was very encouraged by that; not a big deal was made on-camera, but it was pretty clear what was going on and that the "it couple" just accepted them as good buds in their otherwise hetero circle.
