while religious folk in america contemplate boycotts over the cruci-fixins, over in the middle east they show you what true believers do when they believe their religion has been defiled. they take up arms, shut down political offices at gunpoint, hold rallies chanting "death to denmark" and threaten kidnappings and bombings. how long before these cartoonists go the way of theo van gogh?

buy danish!
apologize, or else

Any time I can take political action AND have some delicious pastry, I'm IN.

I'm all for political action and a good BM (no, not THAT one) - but I think they're pretty much one-and-the-same.

What else is there to do in Jerusalem? I'll check zagat's--maybe these guys just need a bowling alley or maybe a nice craft fair...something for the kids to do after they don't go to school.

Kanye West poses as Jesus Christ on a magazine cover. Christians get mad, they organize a campaign to boycott.

A Danish newspaper draws some cartoons about Muhammad and Muslims threaten death.

***Threadjack***

Jane2, my avatar is by British painter Beryl Cook. It's called "Staircase".

The reason I thought it was interesting was because the painting was used for a "Fight Crime" ad campaign in London. The caption under the picture read "Who's watching your bag?"

Do you have any idea how many calories a danish has?
Forget the Danish. A nice cute Italian will do.

I can just hear the furious invective the boycotting Christians are going to draw from this board. I'll sit this one out, eat my danish with pumpkin spice coffee, and thank God I don't live in Denmark.
