senior pictures for an actress. . .

Hey I'm getting my senior pics done really soon and the company I'm taking them with allows you to bring in props that show your personality- like sports equipment and such- and I wanna somehow showcase my theatrical experiences. How could I do that? Any suggestions?

If you can find the comedy tragedy masks...sometimes places like that have them because it's a popular choice.

What about a playbill from a favorite show of yours? Or maybe an article of clothing you have that reminds you of a show you like...like a Mark scarf from RENT..something like that.

Maybe you could set up show posters around you... like the windowcards or even posters from shows you have done.

Nothing too busy.

Three immediate thoughts:

Stand at the apron of the stage with the curtain up and have the photographer stand upstage so that the house is what is seen behind you.

Sit by the follow spot with the stage in the background.

Sit in front of the dressing room mirror with the makeup lights on. Have the photographer take your reflection in the mirror and you would be looking right into the lens. The lighting of this could get tricky with all the makeup lights.

Take a friend and have them stand in for you and then snap a bunch of digital shots to see what the picture could begin to look like.

Make yourself look nothing short of fabulous. Natural. Nothing bizarre. Remember to smile. You have to deal with this picture the rest of your long, long life.

i really like WOSQ's suggestions. they're not too staged or too complicated, which is what is the best in a senior picture.
