AG I'm with you on that. If there is even a SHADOW of a doubt in my mind I put it back on the rack. I could LOVE it, but if I have an inkling I won't wear it, I don't buy it. I know myself well enough now to trust that judgement.
Shopping with one friend can be all right, but I much prefer shopping by myself. You can always find a salesperson to give you a second opinion, and if you're worried they're just trying to make a sale (which rarely happens with me, I always find them extremely helpful and give constructive criticism), you can always ask someone else in the dressing room.

Posted: 8/24/04 at 2:42pmIf I have a shadow of a doubt, it means that it's something "different" than what I usually wear. But the second more objective opinion (because sales associates aren't always objective) is required. As a personal example, I've always wanted a jean jacket. But a denim one always looked "wrong" on me. However, a cord one really works. I had to get an opinion on that, because I didn't think it would, having shied away from all jean jackets, due to my denim ban...

I've learned from experience...and my mom yelling at me about clothes that I bought in doubt but then never wore :-P
I'm my worst critic, so if something doesn't look right or just doesn't work, I put it back. It sounds like it probably takes me a while to find stuff that works, but not usually. The speed factor helps a lot, and not having others to drag you down. LOL Shopping sounds like a military mission when I describe it.

Shopping did someone mention shopping??? Ohhh where to start?
I love Eileen Fisher. (Just got back from putting something on lay-away!) H&M is great. Gotta love the Gap and Old Navy. Club Monaco is also agood place. But here in my little village in western Massachusetts my favorite places are Zanna and Clay's.
So what do folks think about the Fall colours? ( Had to put that extra u in there I loved shopping in Canada. You could get lost in the Eaton Cener!)
