Posted: 12/19/07 at 11:48amI can't find the story but I read somewhere this week that while Tila like to say she's bi-sexual she's never really been with a woman and producers had to work with her to even make it look like she might consider picking a woman.

If that's true about Tila, then she is a sad representation of a "bisexual" and merely enforced negative stereotypes.
And, Namo, while that may indeed be a stereotype. It may be true in a majority of instances. It's likely caused precisely by our society's emphasis of hetero is good/homo is bad. But, no, not "always".
That's as ridiculous as your favorite use of words like "everyone says", etc.

If it's the majority of cases, which I think it is, then it's not really a stereotype, it's the truth. I'm glad you agree with the reasoning behind it that I mentioned, the cultural reinforcement of heteronormative behavior.
And I'll stick with "always" if it is indeed the majority of instances so that maybe it will protect my true blue lesbian sisters from falling into the "but she really loves ME and I'm going to commit to HER and she'll commit to ME and we'll all live happily ever after." I just don't want to see any more heartbroken Melissas or Ellens out there.
Julie Cypher allegedly said, "I don't think I was ever really a lesbian to begin with."
Exactly.

She's simply a sad representation of human beings, period.

oh, sweet cheeks, you are absolutely entitled to your own opinion. and you have every right to play it safe and prejudge a group of people that you are ignorant about and/or disagree with their lifestyle. especially when that lifestyle has been so eloquently and dazzlingly and thoroughly explained by a handful of naughty 'bisexuals'.
because I agree with you. I do think that carson kressley and reichen l. and jim mcgreevey should speak for all gays--including you, namo. don't they speak for you? I think people should be entitled to despise and prejudge gays based on that group's images/comments as well as the seeming majority of gays who are such fabulous hairdressers, interior decorators, and fashion gurus. but not only that--all those stereotypes about gays being child molesters! I mean we DO have to think of the children. why bother with education or treating people as unique individuals. better safe than sorry. stay the course!
but speaking seriously now--a stereotype is a perceived representation, correct or not, of a majority of a group of people.
and I wasn't saying I agree that most bisexuals will choose hetero life over homo life, I was trying to make the point that even if (i believe I did say 'may') this was true, not all people should suffer the prejudice.
and, yes, I do agree that heterocentric is our society's MO. but why address the ACTUAL problem--let's just persecute the people we don't agree with. that's like acknowledging that racism needs to be dealt with, but in the meantime, we'll persecute people of color til the real problem conveniently goes away.
and those true blue lesbians are my sisters, too. and I don't think they need anyone's protection from bisexual evildoers that are clearly lurking to displease a handful of BWWers' utoptia of a black and white, no complexities! sexual existence.
but, honey, you keep on keepin on. ignorance is bliss, right?
and if Ms. Cypher said that, then she (SHE--not all bisexuals) is an asshole. cuz if she loved a woman and got busy with her all those years, it was what it was.

Posted: 1/1/08 at 11:22amI caught like five minutes of her New Years Even thing on MTV last night; did she say Bobby broke up with her? I figured it would be the other way around, but boy, that was fast.

Bobby claims that she never called him after the last show and that no one would give him Tila's phone number.

I am ashamed i even atched the clips of this show on
The Soup," but not to confess that I have a mad crush on Dani.

I think that she didn't chose Dani because her bisexuality was just a gimmick to make the show "different" and "ooooh edgy". I doubt that she is truly bisexual. Just by the way the word was sooooo overemphasized and repeated so many times - it was as if she was saying the word "alien" instead of bisexual.
Especially when they brought her home to meet their families. She kept saying "OMG what are they going to say....when I reveal to them.....that I am....*cue horror music*...a BISEXUAL!!!!!". It was all really forced and over the top.
I'm glad Dani didn't "win". She was too good for the show anyway.
