I'm seeing Assassins today. Last time I was at Studio 54 I spent too much on drinks. I felt pressured to order for some reason.

When I saw cabaret, I just ordered a coke, and nothing more...
But I didn't feel pressured

I didn't actually feel "pressured," I just saw everyone around me ordering and it was like a party.

Related story:

A friend in Assassins told me that a few weeks ago, a clumsy patron knocked their glass off of the table and shattered it onto the floor. This happened about two seconds before "Something Just Broke".

When the girl who sings the opening lines came on and sang "Something just broke...", the audience roared laughing. It wasn't until later that it was explained to the cast just why the hell everyone was laughing during their "very serious number"

Moral of the true story: stick to bottled water!

As it happens, no one came around to ask for our order but a couple at our table each had a drink. We asked how much they were and he said $28.00 plus tip.

I'm really glad I saw "Assassins." The same feeling I had when I read "The World According to Garp" came over me. A few people walked out in the very beginning of the show, which was kind of unsettling. I mean, the show didn't glorify assassination, it doesn't condemn it either, it just shows you the twisted mindset of the assassins. Denis O'Hare did so remind me of the same mannerisms he used in "Take Me Out" but, he was fantastic anyway. It's a very special show for those who can appreciate something darkly comedic. Wholy ****.
A drink was 28.00 I am so glad they did not come to my table when I saw Assassins.
I thought 15 was bad at a hot spot.

I personally don't like mixing theater and alchohol. Good theater gives me a great high all on its own. However; bad theater sends me straight to the bar.(Purely to be social)
