I used to have this problem (now that I take daily meds, I've gotten over it).
- A good way is to practice with M&Ms, gummi bears, or something else like that. Often, you can trick your mind into swallowing stuff that's pill-sized if it's not pills. After you have that down, pills get easier. Do like 5 M&Ms in a row, and then make the sixth try be the pill. Maybe you can psych yourself out.
- Try putting it in applesauce.
- Try putting it in ice cream
- And if all else fails, mash the pill up and put the powder into a spoon of jam or something.
Good luck!
I take like 2 or 3 at once... Big Uns.
I can't imagine how tough it would be without the ability to do that. They're good things, pills.
I am also not able to swallow pills. For me it is a gag reflex that also happens with different food items.
It sucks having to tell the doctor I can't swallow pills, but I have come to accept it as a part of me.
