here's a pet peeve. crazy carriage weilding parents who use their babies as "crowd breakers". they EXPECT all of us to break our stride. they shove their mewling, wrinkly, rug-rats in our path, in front of cars, in the streets, because.."Hey...I've got a BABY here!!!" I feel SO terribly sorry for the poor, poor pedestrian that has to endure the sound of tiny bones crunching and the horrified pain filled screams of a bloody squished infant. what a shame. oh, bongo, *biting bottom lip* i feel your pain. having to negotiate times square on a regular basis (including matinee days) as part of my work day, those parents are but one class of the many hordes whom i have decided have no idea where they are going, how they will get there, or what they might do should they accidentally find themselves there so they content themselves with standing in the middle of the sidewalk or crosswalk or at the top of the stair or escalator staring straight up into space as if awaiting instructions via mind probe from their alien overlords.

yes, papa. negotiating times square (which i also do daily) deserves it's own special "peeves" thread. tourists....we love you and we're glad you are here...just watch out when we're on the move!!
