TOY STORY should not be number 1. BEAUTY AND THE BEAST should be higher.
Not a bad list though.

When I read the thread title, the first thing that popped into my head was South Park, so I'm glad they mentioned it. I would put that as my number one by a mile...or maybe ten.
And I don't know about being one of the best, but Aladdin is definitely one of my favorites.

TOY STORY as number 1? Huh? No.
I can't believe they didn't include SLEEPING BEAUTY, which IMO, is one of the best, most magical Disney films and it flat-out features the best of their villains. Malefica is only matched by Ursula, and that's only because Ursula gets a great song in THE LITTLE MERMAID.

I can't believe that crapfest Shrek made the cut! AND beat out Bambi and Pinocchio! Shrek has perhaps the crappiest art direction I have seen in a long time!

PINOCCHIO only rates #18, while that lame SHREK is #3? In what universe does FANTASIA rate lower than THE LION KING and CINDERELLA?
Feh. Lists. Feh.
I'd have put AKIRA on the list somewhere, certainly a more interesting movie than that PRINCESS MONONUKLEOSIS thing.

Yeah, that list pretty much sucks. No account for taste or comprehension at all.
Spirited Away was a boring piece of crap, as was Princess Mononoke. Both were like watching "new age" grass grow. Painful movies.
And putting Snow White, Dumbo, Pinocchio and Beauty and the Beast down that far shows they have absolutely no idea what they're talking about.
I'm guessing they're also about 20 years old.

No GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES? Yeah...another list put together by someone who appears to be a 21 year-old intern.

Well what's the criteria?
I mean - I would place Raggedy Ann and Andy: A Musical Adventure near the top of my list despite it not being "beautifully" animated compared to more recent films.
I'd also add Anastasia in the mix.

Your list is lovely, dear. I was speaking of the original list at the top of the post. *Borstal kisses Besty on cheek* Mwah!

Ohh! An unfortunate juxtaposition of posts. My bad.
So sorry for the hissy-fit... although I did fancy being called "21" again. But "intern?" *gasp*
And I agree that if we were including shorts films, and even animated TV specials my list would change some too.

1. PINOCCHIO
2. DUCK AMUCK
3. RABBIT SEASONING
4. FANTASIA
5. THE INCREDIBLES
6. AKIRA
7. BULLY FOR BUGS
8. SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS
9. THE HAND
10. BALANCE
11. BOLERO from ALLEGRO NON TROPPO
12. SOUTH PARK BIGGER LONGER UNCUT
13. WHO KILLED COCK ROBIN?

Awful list. I would love to see the little-known The Mouse and His Child on the list as well. Beautiful film.

Beauty and the Beast absolutely should be higher. I watched it the other day and the ballroom scene actually made me cry. Pure Disney magic at its finest.

If I was going to pick an anime film , it would be TOKYO GODFATHERS, a remake of Ford's THREE GODFATHERS.
Hilarious and heartbreaking.

As literally the only person in the world who found THE INCREDIBLES incredibly predictable and boring (there is such a thing as being *too* polished XP), I dislike this list. I also suspect I'm one of about twenty people across the globe who very highly rates THE EMPEROR'S NEW GROOVE... XD

I do have to say I'm glad they included the SOUTH PARK film, it truly is a wonderful movie musical. Didn't Sondheim say it was one of his favorite movie musicals?
Either way, Besty, please get a job at whatever publication made this list? Your lists are always so much better, and they keep me from screaming at my computer screen.

Dumbo totally deserves to be higher on the list. That is my all time favorite Disney movie. Toy Story was good, but definitely not #1 worthy. I think I really would have topped all of the non computer animated Disney movies above it. I really didn't like the Incredibles either. It just was not an interesting movie to me. I can't say anything about those Anime films, since I did not see them. Same with The Triplets of Belleville.
