So they're going to remove all transfat from the foods we eat. I wonder how they can remove that fat from meat, chicken, and fish?

Animal fat is not transfat. Transfat is man-made and it can prolong shelf-life, but shorten your own.

Transfat is essentially taking a liquid fat and artificially making solid with hydrogen--things like margarine. It's been proven to be very unhealthy, even in small quantities. It seems counterintuitive, but you're much better off with butter and lard.

I'm always delighted to eat butter, yay! Thanks Reg!

I understand that transfat makes the food taste better and improves the texture of it.

Read the ingredients in a whole slew of products and you will lose your lunch. Sounds like terms from a sci fi movie.

Actually, most margarine is now non-hydrogenated, so it is actually trans fat free. That is why it is so much softer than it used to be. Butter is loaded with saturated fat, which will still clog you arteries, just more slowly than trans fat will.

If the government is going to stick their nose into what we eat, then I wish they would take on high fructose corn syrup.

I really wish we could get back to the foods of the 1950s. When was the last time you had Steak Diane?

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

"If the government is going to stick their nose into what we eat, then I wish they would take on high fructose corn syrup."

The government is the reason that high fructose corn syrup is so widely used to begin with. The government subsidized the production of corn, which led to lots of corn being produced at a low cost, which led to an overabundance of corn, which led to corn being used as a cheap, widely available source of sugar. So if the government puts money in to reducing it, they are essentially putting money in to reduce the use of something that they have subsidized the production of and the whole thing goes in circles.

i haven't eaten any transfats, Enriched flours or high fructose or sodium for over 2 years. If you check ingredients you'll see plainly which foods have them. Red meat if its lean is actually very healthy and is brtter for you than many salads.

There are all sorts of sugars even in fruit but high ffructose and the sugar in alcohol is by far the worst sugar of all.
If you must drink, red wine and vodka are best. Beer and fruity drinks wordt.
