"Has he done more than Bush? Clinton? Why can't you just admit that no matter how much he does, it will NEVER satisfy you?"
I won't admit it because it isn't true. If he were to endorse marriage equality for all Americans, get DADT's repeal actually in gear, issue a quick executive order ending DADT discharges until repeal can happen, and actually do something about getting DOMA repealed, I'd be pretty well satisfied.
"How can he work with people like you who don't acknowledge the "baby steps" he does make?"
I certainly acknowledge the "baby steps" he does make. I just recognize them as "baby steps" rather than the strides that a Fierce Advocate should be making.
"No matter what he does you want everything done RIGHT NOW!"
I'm not content to wait for my equal rights. I doubt it is something that you will understand. Looks like we disagree.
"The Fierce Advocate is doing more than any President has done so far. You seem to forget that.
Right. Baby steps are more than anyone has yet done. Nice well and good. It still isn't enough. And as long as Obama continues to endorse discrimination against gay men and women, it will not be enough. Looks like we disagree.
"I would love to live in your world where all he has to do is wave his wand and fix all the problems we have."
That's hardly the world I live in. The world I live in has a President who is opposed to equality for gay men and women. He's not the first. He certainly won't be the last. I'd give a lot for it to be different. It certainly won't be different any time soon.
"Whats weird is, I do agree with you to an extent. I just don't think you are being fair or realistic (we've been over this before, just a difference in opinion)"
Indeed we have been over this before. You're evidently happy with the dribs and drabs of equality that Obama is dishing out. You're far from the only one. I'm happy that some progress has been made, but feel that Obama is not doing enough on the issues he campaigned on, the promises he made. I'm far from the only one.
Looks like the disagreement will continue.
