But seriously- I think I understand why african-Americans aren't too excited about parks named for confederate civil war generals just like I understood when Carol Mosely Braun wanted to ban the flying of the confederate flag. I think there might be a "Racist" reason for their resentment- what do you think?

Well but he was a founder of the KKK. If Barry had worked his way through college writing scripts for Kingfisher and Sapphire I guess that would be fair game in an ad about him.

it's a silly ad. The dude's name is COHEN for god's sake.
To even imply that he's somehow pro-KKK is absurd.

I'm not saying Trinki (or whatever her name is) isn't more qualified. I don't have any idea.
It's just a stupid ad.

eh, imagery is overrated. i mean juxtaposing bammy with some mau maus would just be a way of showing his dedication tom african causes. it wouldn't be a way of inferring that he might like to chop up white folks with a machete. not at all.

just like this one doesn't try to link cohen - cohen, come on! - to the kkk.

i like this new open standard in which ads are judged on what they are intended to do not by what they actually do.

the comments on the last one are quite instructive as well. particularly the one about the vote against re-naming the park: seems like it was also opposed by the black mayor and the black majority city council and involved not just re-naming the park but digging up general and mrs. forrest and moving their bodies.

seems most prominent dems had the stones to stand up and call it what it was without any equivocations and "but the gop" crap.

says a lot.
