I'll play nice.

My favorite song changes a lot, but right now it's "Unusual way" form NINE.

A Little Fall of Rain, Les Miserables. Makes me cry every time.

Don't worry about the search button attack, we all get it at some point. It's practically a rite of passage, and nothing personal.

I hope you didn't take what I said earlier as mean, I was just trying to help out.

Sorry, though. It just gets tiring after a while to see thread after thread...

Oh no, I totally understand. I know I'll probably feel the same way a while from now.

And speaking of the Schmuel song, I've heard so many good things about The Last Five Years, but I still haven't gotten around to getting the OBC recording. Who's in the OBC? And what's the show about?

A lot of those questions can be answered by the Sherie thread, but I understand not wanting to go through tons of pages.

The Last Five Years is no longer playing off broadway (where it started). The OBC consists of two people, Norbert Leo Butz and Sherie Rene Scott. Both are incredibly talented (See DRS) and make this show fabulous, not to mention Jason Robert Brown is a genius. The OBCR is definitely worth getting, as every single song is fantastic. The show is about a relationship between the two characters lasting (yes, you guessed it) 5 years. Kathy (or Sherie) tells the story of their relationship backwards (her first song is their breakup), while Jaimie (or Norbert) tells the story in order from when they first meet (his first song tells about meeting her). The only time they're on stage together is when they meet in The Next 10 Minutes (the wedding scene).

Go buy it now.

mm, my favorite song will change from day to day depending on my mood. I think it may be "Ten Years More" from Forbidden Broadway today.

This week, it's "Those Were The Good Old Days" from Damn Yankees, last week it was "Johanna" from Sweeney Todd.

And an amen to "A Little Fall of Rain"

Right now it is every song on the new Sweeney OBRCR. I never thought during the show how well and smooth it would play in the car on long drives to work but it does. Funny note, Only time I had a problem as of late was feeling in a down mood and all the whistles for the deaths near the end got me a bit un-nerved, I had to pop a xanax (or two), then it was fine again!

My favorite tends to change a lot, too.
But right now I really like Sutton Foster singing "On My Own" from Les Mis.

Forgive me, but I come from a small town where no one really knows anything about musical theater...what's YAGMCB?

And Emily, I'd have to agree with you about "On My Own," it's such a beautiful song, actually I think I sang it for a concert or a revue or something last year; definitely one of my favorites!

Oh, I knew it was an acronym for some show, I'm just not very well versed in many shows. Anthony Rapp and Kristin Chenoweth were in the revival weren't they? I love Anthony, he's such a great actor.

I'm going to be trite and say pretty much anything from Les Mis... One Day More, I Dreamed a Dream, Do You Hear the People Sing, Master of the House, Javert's Suicide.

I also LOVE I Still Believe from Miss Saigon.

ps... welcome to the boards, mymaureen!

Kitzy = the only person alive who doesn't particularly care for the Schmuel song. It's ok...just a little dull. Nowhere near the strongest song in that show lyrically or melodically.
