i once was at my bfs house eating dinner for the first time and had the pleasure of eating soup..and then finding out it was- i kid you not- 'chicken heart soup'- when they tod me that i was like 'AHHHHA HA HA HA HA...oh...you're serious....heh heh....YUUUUMMMMM' *gags in napkin* very chewy/crunchy...

Aww, that's nothing. Don't make generalizations about Chinese people from this, but we've got some of the seemingly grossest "delicacies" I can think of. Chicken feet is a common dim sum dish, and we've also been known to eat bird saliva, fish eyes and sea urchin.



This is just from the top of my head. If you check any menu from an upscale authentic Chinese restaurant (as opposed to those "mu shu pork" and "sweet and sour chicken ball" diners), there's plenty of ingredients that would make your stomach shrivel up.

As for things I've eaten, I've had chicken feet, which actually isn't too disgusting - it just looks gross. I ate a salmon eyeball by accident at a Japanese restaurant - I didn't realize it until I felt the crunch of lens in my mouth.

~Bad Experince with disgusting item~

I dont remember what it was.....
but many years ago my bestfriend (not any more)
invited me to his parent's restaurant to celebrate his birthday.
I picked something up and bit it, I didnt want to be rude and spit it out and napkins werent at my reach so I swallowed it whole. I was choking on it! Thankfully there was water. I didnt want to alarm them so I tried chocking clamly, LOL.

FYI ( we did not stop being friends because of this, its cuz I moved away )

I took a tentative bite of something called "Devils on Horseback." It's an old-school English upper-class delicacy.

It consists of a prune steeped in tea, then stuffed with chicken liver mousse, and wrapped in bacon.

It was the foulest thing ever, and I had to spit it out.

I was eating a bagle, and half way through it, I noticed there was a spider inside it.

I'm not very brave when it comes to eating weird/gross stuff unless I knew EXACTLY what's in it.

I ate this stuff at a German resturaut, I forgot the name of it, but in English it roughly translates to "meat cake". I thought it was pretty good but everyone else thought it was gross.
