Take that, Phelps.

I'd love to see this opinion printed in every newspaper in the country.

Did you just make a Designing Women reference?

Good article. I have a feeling the only people reading it are those who agree with it already.

That's true, MattAdd, but I have a ridiculous hope that, somehow, this article will get out.

Rev. Nunn!

I just remember his name because of Suzanne asking: "If you're so against women in the ministry, why is your name Rev. Nunn?"

Same old tired rhetoric. This man should open his Bible and read everything that Jesus said, not just the selected bits that he agrees with.

Those are my thoughts exactly. That's the message I always try to get across.

Thanks for posting!

YES, Calvin...

And Bernice reads him by knowing more passages in the bible.

He also looks like the husband who beats Kim Zimmer on the Rowdy Girls episode.

Goth - so you believe that Jesus thinks homosexuality is wrong?

So Goth, since we don't have those biblical references at hand that you seem to refer to. Could you please offer up the chapter and verse where Jesus refers to the sin of homosexuality? I can't seem to come across it in my Standard Revised and King James traslations.

Well, pretty soon they'll find some "missing teachings of Christ" about it and insert that in between a few verses.

"Could you please offer up the chapter and verse where Jesus refers to the sin of homosexuality?"

We go through this all the time. This time around why don't you show me the verses where Jesus approves of homosexuality?

"Don't ask, JustAGuy...he's just pot-stirring--that's what happens when you lose elections."

I realize that he is probably pot-stirring. But, whenever someone uses the Bible as a source for their arguments, I don't think it would hurt to quote the chapter and verse, so the rest of us might be able to reference it as well. I'm just curious if he has a more more contempoary version of the bible, where Jesus actually speaks on the subject of Homosexuality.

It is indeed interesting, Goth, to see how selective use of the Bible can lead to distortion. Obscure Old Testament verses were used to justify both antigay prejudice and almost two and a half centuries of slavery. The story of Canaan, who was supposesdly cursed by God to serve his brethren until the end of his race (for reasons he had very little to do with) was repeated endlessly from American pulpits throughout the 19th century, soothing the consciences of slave traders and owners.

Not to mention that war-mongerers who are forever bringing up "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" conveniently ignore the fact that Jesus rejected this saying in favor of "turn the other cheek."

I ask in all honesty/What would life be?/Without a song and a dance, what are we?/So I say "Thank you for the music/For giving it to me."

And by contemporary, you mean altered? Right?

Not that it's AT ALL altered as it stands today! P-shaw!

And in Luke 22:36 when Jesus says to sell their garment and buy a sword, why do you think he wants them to do that?

I can't seem to find a verse where Jesus approves of usage of the Internet.....

Damn you Satan and your devil web of information!
