There was a story of him doing Samson & Delilah

De Mille was P.O. ed at him because he did not want to come out to fight a trained lion in a scene & they had to tranquilize it a little

It shows in the movie which is great camp

He never did it for me as much as some other actors from his generation. I always liked John Payne and James Craig better. Victor did look great in those high-waisted slacks, though.
