I never liked his lips. As a little girl, I saw him on TV and told my mom they looked like "liver lips." She thought that was hilarious. :-P

those lips could please a lady I bet. Alpha male all the way.
There was a story of him doing Samson & Delilah
De Mille was P.O. ed at him because he did not want to come out to fight a trained lion in a scene & they had to tranquilize it a little
It shows in the movie which is great camp

guess he wasn't much of a cat lover. My pusses cover me in scratches if I wrassle 'em. I'd bet a lion could really leave a mark. Even a tranquilized one.
When you worked for De Mille, I believe no or I cannot do it were words he wanted to hear
He never did it for me as much as some other actors from his generation. I always liked John Payne and James Craig better. Victor did look great in those high-waisted slacks, though.
He was great in After The Fox where he poked fun at himself
Ooooh, John Payne...
That Hurrell publicity photo from 1939? Damn.
Now, we're talkin' HOT.
Oh, man.
More men need to look like that nowadays.
That's a hot piece of man.
Regarding "Samson and Delihla", what was it Groucho Marx said about Victor Mature's tits being bigger than Hedy Lamarr's?
And he was the original "Randy Curtis" in the Broadway production of "Lady In The Dark"
It was Grouch who, by the way, is on TCM @ 8 PM tonight being interviewed by Dick Cavett
Of Groucho or Mature ?
He is fun to watch in The Egyptian. He seemed to take himself seriously. He is also a hoot in Hannibal with elephants galore
