i just found out that a friend of mine from high school, who had received a multi-organ (liver, stomach, intestine and pancreas) transplant back in march now needs a kidney transplant because his medications have damaged his kidneys so much.

in his mom's words:
"Well back in 2005 when we first found out that JohnnyRay needed to get a Tranplant. We cried so Hard! That was what we thought at that time to be the most horrific news anyone could get. ( Some one threw a curve ball at us.) Then in Feb.2005 we head down to D.C. to have a transplant evaluation and curve ball #2 comes at us. Not only does he need a sm.bowel but pancreas, stomach and maybe liver.
In June 2006 head to Pittsburgh for a 2nd opinion and find out in fact he does now need a liver. BY this time your like game on! No more curve balls. were winning this game!!!!!
March 26,2007 we get the call we have great organs for you are you still interested? Of course! Hang up, scream, jump, run around yipee yahoo! Of course your scared but at the same time you are so excited! Life is gonna get better for your child!
Oct.10 someone hit the ball way into outer field!!! And it's NOT a homerun. Just when you think that roller coaster ride is coming to an end!!!!!!I'm numb again! I can't believe what I'm hearing! this can't be true! This isn't fair! someone please wake me up from this terrible terrible nightmare! THIS CANNOT!!!!BE HAPPENING!!!!!!
Wed. Oct.10,2007 We are now told that quite possible, more so than not JohnnyRay needs a kidney transplant."

please say a prayer or light a candle or keep this family in your thoughts or send good vibes or whatever you do.
they mean so much to me.

Well, tough is relative. I'd prefer to just think good thoughts for your friend and not be judged because I didn't have the misfortune to need a transplant.

Do you have a link to the Mother's blog? Or a site where they are taking donations?

sm Bowel (is that the small intestine?)
Liver
Pancreas
Stomach
Kidney.

Is that even possible?

And is JohnnyRay his screen name? If not why did his parents not put a space between the two names?
And Abba, is this a friend you have actually met? In PERSON?

PEACE.

Abba knows what she's talking about.

And this is one kid I'll say a prayer for. That's the bitch about immuno-suppressive medications...while they make it possible for organs to be transplanted into a new body, they can also damage what's already there, most often the kidneys.

I consider JonBenet Ramsey to be the prototype of the mid-name cap.

Effie, We All Got Pain

As I said above, I've got plenty of empathy. I just found the delivery a little off-putting.

Well, I'm always defensive on behalf of transplant patients everywhere, you know.

wow, I can feel the empathy, it is a bit overwhelming.
Arent you reading a bit to much into the "delivery", people say that all the time. Get over yourself!

You know, I never saw you post on this board until about fifteen seconds ago, but just seeing you at the end of this thread seemed inevitable.

Neither. I've evolved past cliches. I try to use my own words. And again, guy, could you please stop pestering me? After I say my prayers for the people who asked for them on BWW and I need to head over to Bear411 and do the same.

I felt it was time to change the subject line, that's why.

If I was a rescue lady I wouldn't let you have a dog, either!

Well you are not, and I dont think it was right for her to just give the dog away, she obviously knew she wasnt supposed to because she made note that she didnt lie, I just don't like all of the coldness she is obviously upset and so is the family, and I am not sure that what they did was best for the daog either.

I wonder what process they go through to see if a home is suitable? Does anyone know if they tried to see if the new home would of been approved had they walked into the shelter 10minutes before Ellen?

and last thing: "I felt it was time to change the subject line, that's why." I realize why you changed it, the point is that those are not "your words"
