Just got in from seeing 110 In The Shade tonight. And I loved it!
Audra was back and did a fantastic job. Her entrance applause was about a minute and at curtain call, almost the whole house rose simultaneously as she came out.
I'd been excited, then a little nervous about it when I read (ok...I'm slow) in Playbill that it's based on The Rainmaker because that's never been one of my favorite plays. But I went and the score (and ok, Audra) totally won me over. I laughed, I cried, I simply loved it. The rest of the cast is good too. And the four main ones all stopped and signed at the door, even Aurda. Steve Kazee had us in stitches, especially when we realized I'd seen him in Spamalot and he totally started interacting with me and my friend when the usher let us go take seats.
I think yankeefan007 said the AC in the mezz was out at one point. I can report it is now in FULL working order. I wanted a blanket like they gave the front row.
But it was an amazing evening. It's definitely on my list to go back to see again. And the cast recording is on my must purchase list. :)
Oh...and if you didn't know, the door is on 53rd. Thankfully someone pointed that out to a small group of us who were wandering around on 54th because we went out that way. Just go through the parking garage and turn left if you go out on 54th.

Did you sign before the show? And why did Steve Kazee watch you take your seats?
They were signing after ths shoe.
And the Spamalot story... My friend and I had standing room one night. Our usher liked us (as opposed to the kids next to us who thought they could take seats as soon as the show started) and let us go down front a little over halfway through act 1. It wasn't really then but in Lancelot's big numbers and at the end that he was just making faces at us. It was funny...or maybe you had to be there.
Is this a joke?
