I realize this was 30 years ago but seriously? Berry Bostwick, Susan Egan, Donna McKechnie and Brent Sudduth in ancient China? Who cast this?

I watched it out of sick curiosity . This cast is seriously OVERqualified for the show; the lyrics and music are so simple that it honestly feels like they’re talking down to the audience, even though it’s intended for children. Micky really should have told Barry to lighten his touch, he’s mugging a lot. The only good thing I can say about this (culturally insensitive) production is that they did stick pretty close to the original story.
