WICKED because it's the best new musical in a long time and has two great central performances. GYPSY because it's one of the greatest of all classic Broaday shows and because Bernadette Peters, the quintessential Rose, is awesome.

Only 5 more weeks to see Sutton Foster in Thoroughly Modern Millie. She is amazing! The greatest performance I have ever seen on stage.
The Producers is also a great show, especially with the stars back, BUT, as you may be aware, there are allways tickets available at a very high premium price, but if they're unsold a day before they go on sale for the regular $100 at the box office. Good luck.
Hairspray, and Avenue Q are also great fun shows.

See LITTLE SHOP, definately, and try for PRODUCERS, but if that is not possible, either LION KING (noticed this was not on your list - it is a must see) or MILLIE (if you catch Sutton).
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Sutton's last is February 15th. Millie's a great show, even if you don't catch her. No one will compare to Sutton, but I think Susan Egan will pull it off well.
I think I posted mentioning Wicked a while ago, but also Rent. I can't say enough for that show. It's incredible.

"But we promise you this - if you DO bring your teenagers to AVENUE Q, they'll think you're pretty cool." quote from http://www.avenueq.com/about.html

Take it from a mom, we recently saw Avenue Q. My 12 year old daughter would have been a tad uncomfortable (there is puppet nudity you know!) but my 14 yr old would have loved it. I did take them to see Rent and it probably actually has more promiscuity in it than Q.

Talk them into Q!

I think Avenue Q is more inappropriate than Rent is, but that's just me...

I saw Avenue Q with both my parents (in the front row no less!) , who aren't cool parents in any way, and they loved it! I bought the cast recording and they'll even listen to it...
