2006 revivals
2006 revivals#0
Posted: 12/30/05 at 1:37pmI am pretty sure there has been some talk about doing it, but I think 2006 is the year....PIPPIN REVIVAL! One of my favorite shows ever, and I think it is time it comes back to broadway! Anyone else agree, or have any shows they want to see in 2006?

Posted: 12/30/05 at 2:33pmKelly0Ann, that'd be great if they brought back Pippin. My school put on a production of it my freshman year - I've loved it ever since.

Cinderella wouldnt be a revival - there's never been a Broadway production. The committee may deem it a revival, but it hasnt been done before.
WSS... I don't want to wait until 2007!
I could see a Pippin revival working. The LA production this past year did well, I wish that would have transferred (yay Michael!).
Can they reopen Cabaret? Please? lol

Well, these might not happen right away, but my list for shows that NEED a revival are:
Mack and Mabel
Dreamgirls
A Little Night Music
Sunday in the Park with George
Hello, Dolly! with a new staging and star.
South Pacific
Oliver!
Bye Bye Birdie

You just did and it sucked, didn't it? Doesn't legally count as theatre, does it? Where the hell is Fosse, right?
Anyway, ending my Charity '05 rant, staying on topic...
Mr. Herman said a few years ago on a Radio Playbill interview that Nederlander would be reviving his 3 big smash shows in this order-
Mame
La Cage
Dolly
The order was changed obviously. I hope that it comes by the year I requested.

Posted: 12/31/05 at 12:22amIn addition, the buzz of a revival of The Wiz will most likely carry over for next year, as it has for every year before...I personally hope for SITPWG, ALNM, and Pippin.
